Located in the south west of Baku, between the central botanical gardens and a built up urban area, close to the shores of the Caspian Sea, JDA has designed a residential tower of 90 units for a local developer. The natural contrast between the vegetation of the gardens and the building have been exaggerated with a simple palette of white render and glass panels. The form of the proposal has been created through a human interpretation of the fractal growth of development seen in nature with repeating geometry. This creates an elegant building which formally addresses the botanical gardens.
