Rye Riverside Quarter: Bridge Point/Rock Channel, Rye, East Sussex

A mixed-use development on the Rye riverfront orientated to take advantage of views to the historic citadel and landscaped to reconnect the site to the river front.

The project includes residential apartments and terraced houses intermixed with workplace and retail areas. The introduction of a riverside walkway, new public space and moorings to the riverfront will be an integral part of the development. The design draws on the local vernacular of boathouses, artisan’s studios and beach houses, creating a series of pitched roof forms all slightly different in shape and height finished in local materials such as flint walling and rough timber cladding. Planning has been achieved for the initial five three bed terraced houses.
